Discussing Questions And Answers About Kindle Games

Betty asks…

How to transfer game content from one Kindle to another?

I received a Kindle Keyboard from my cousin because he got a Fire and didn’t want his old Kindle anymore. So, I registered it on my account and then the case broke and I needed to order a replacement. So, I got the replacement and now I want to transfer the games that my cousin had purchased on the original Kindle to the replacement. I cannot figure out how to do it since I don’t show the games purchased on my Amazon account. Shouldn’t I be able to move the games from the Kindle to my Amazon and then sync back to my other Kindle? Or maybe archive the games and then pull them up on my new Kindle? I’m afraid to perform an archive because the process involves deleting the item first and I’m afraid if I do that I might never get it back again. Want to make sure first that this can be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m a Kindle newbie.

Stan answers:

I guess you put it on a computer then sync it

Donna asks…

Is there a good turn-based strategy game for the Kindle?

Stan answers:

You can get quite a few. Scrabble is one of them, but I don’t think you play online. You have to pass the Kindle back and forth. Check here.

Laura asks…

How to download games to Kindle Fire from computer?

Hi, I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas only to find out that I don’t have a wireless router for WIFI in my own home. I can dowload e-Books directly from Amazon by downloading it to my computer, then using a USB cord to DL it to my KF, I was wondering if I could do it with apps and if so can someone please show me how? Thanks!

Stan answers:

Most games, once downloaded to your Kfire, will play without wifi connection. You will, however, need a wifi in order to download the games.

Discussing Questions And Answers About Kindle For Pc

Richard asks…

why has PC World stopped selling ereaders except for the kindle?

i’m not a big fan of the kindle and was looking to buy a ereader from PC World but they’ve stopped selling all the ereaders they had and now only sell the kindle. does anyone know why?

Stan answers:

They probably stopped selling them due to the Kindle being so popular and to be honest they are built so well and to a high quality standard no other product on the market could keep up and compete with Amazons official eBook reader.

Take a look at this Kindle review when you consider all the features and the price online it becomes a great deal http://digitalgadgetsworld.co.uk/kindle/amazon-kindle/blog

Donald asks…

Do Kindle books have pagination?

Today I downloaded the Kindle for PC (Beta) and purchased my first book (I don’t have a regular Kindle). But I noticed that there is no pagination in the book I purchased.

Does the Kindle device have pagination for the books you purchase?

I ask because this presents a major problem if I want to cite something from a Kindle book.

Stan answers:

Seems there is similar “page” problem on the Amazon Kindle device too. See the last sixth paragraph here, and see how the person resolves the problem:

Sandy asks…

Is the kindle for your PC free?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_pc_mkt_lnd?docId=1000426311

Stan answers:

Yes, but the Kindle books that you can read on it aren’t free.

George asks…

for christmas ma and my sister got an amazon kindle?

we both got a kindle 3 and we can’t figure out how to get another kindle for PC Account and we don’t want to have each others book’s in each others kindle
ALSO how long does it take to charge the kindle on the wall from the computer

Stan answers:

All you need to do is make another account with Amazon. I believe you can even do this with your Kindle. You’ll just need a separate e-mail address.

Mine took about two hours to charge from a power outlet. It will probably take a little longer if you charge it through a computer because they usually let out less power.

Discussing Questions And Answers About Kindle Books

Mary asks…

Kindle books from ipod touch to computer?

I started buying kindle books from the app on my iPod touch because the prices are great. Problem is my iPods die constantly. How do I get the books I downloaded from my iPod to my computer so I can have them backed up?

Stan answers:

See here and the comment in the page, it should work similar for both iPhone and iPod touch, see if it helps:

http://theappleblog.com/2009/03/04/first-look-amazon-kindle-for-iphone/

However, if you plan to read Kindle books often, I’ll recommend you to get the Kindle instead. When using the iPod to read Kindle books, there are quite a lot of people complaining about the small screen size, discomfort for long reading, no wireless access and no access of Kindle store for instant download of books and newspapers, etc., when compared to the Kindle. If you only use the device for reading occasionally then it should be fine. But if you’ll use it for reading often then it is the best bet to buy the Kindle. You’ll definitely feel a big difference on the reading experience. There is a good review here talking about the difference too:

http://www.speedreaderxreview.com/amazon-kindle-2-0-vs-apple-iphone

I recommend you to read this review of the Kindle too, it is the best one I’ve ever read:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR3QM7LGL62MZ4X%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Frdp%255Fperm&tag=more_info-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Hope it helps.

Paul asks…

Does amazon send receipts for free kindle books?

I just bought a book on amazon for the kindle app on my itouch. The book was free and my grand total was $0.00. They made me give them a billing address. Will they send anything to my house? If they do, what will be on it? And what do I do?

Stan answers:

They’ll only send it to your email address. You don’t need to do anything.

Robert asks…

Free kindle books on the web?

I am looking for any free kindle books on the web. Ones I have got links to, are very old and not so interesting. Looking for some variety… Any suggestions please?

Stan answers:

The sites listed here have free ebook downloads:

http://www.howtodecide.com/ebook-download/#~tf.free=y&free.yes=y

Also, if you master a good conversion tool such as Calibre,

http://calibre-ebook.com/

you’ll gain access to more formats (such as EPUB) than just Kindle’s native ebook file formats (AZW, MOBI).

Chris asks…

Where can I get Kindle books from other than Amazon?

I’m currently considering buying one of the new Amazon Kindles but I was just wondering can you only get books off the amazon site or is it like with music and iTunes where you should buy music off the iTunes store but a lot of people including myself use free sites and torrents to get music – can i get ebooks like that?

Stan answers:

You can get out of copyright books on Project Gutenberg. But for modern books, Amazon is pretty much your only source.

Don’t fret about it though. I checked around. Other eBook sellers aren’t beating Amazon on price or selection.

John asks…

How do I put my kindle books on to my kindle?

I just got a kindle as a gift. I would like to put my coursesmart e-textbooks on to it. How do I do it? And don’t tell me it is not possible.

Stan answers:

If it’s an eBook in the Kindle format, you can just plug your Kindle into your computer with the USB cable, and then drag and drop books onto your Kindle. To the computer, it looks just like any USB memory device.
